The 7 Commitments of Spiritual Growth
Your Pathway to Personal Renewal at Antioch

THE 7 COMMITMENTS OF SPIRITUAL GROWTH

At Antioch, our commitment to growth is reflected in three key frameworks:
Surrender, our 2025 theme 'Better,' and Antioch Ubuntu.
These guiding principles shape how we grow both personally and as a church community.

  • Surrender reminds us that true transformation begins with fully yielding our lives to God’s will. Growth starts with trust and obedience.
  • 'Better' (Our 2025 Theme) challenges us to continually pursue spiritual maturity, refining our faith and actions to reflect Christ more fully.
  • Antioch Ubuntu emphasizes that we do not grow alone—our journey is interconnected with the well-being of our church family and broader community.

Discipleship is a journey of intentional commitments to growing in faith, connecting with others, and living out God’s purpose. These seven commitments serve as practical steps for engaging in personal and church growth.

Each of these commitments is grouped into four categories to provide a clear pathway for growth:

Foundational Commitment – Fully surrendering to God.
Personal Commitments – Growing spiritually through purpose and rhythms.
Corporate Commitments – Engaging in worship and discipleship.
Community Commitments – Sharing and investing in others.

By embracing these disciplines, we align ourselves with Surrender, Better, and Antioch Ubuntu, allowing God to shape us into the disciples He has called us to be.

Grace Over Legalism: These commitments are opportunities for growth, not rigid requirements. Discipleship is about progress, not perfection—we take these steps with God’s grace and the support of our church family.

FOUNDATIONAL COMMITMENT: Fully Surrender to God

To grow in faith, you must first surrender fully to God. This is the foundation of your journey with Christ. Fully surrendering to Him is an act of trust, love, and obedience. Everything else in your journey flows from this commitment.
