Antioch Kids

ANTIOCH KIDS

Our Primary Goal:  The mission of Antioch Kids is to partner with parents to help kids know, love and serve Jesus.

Our Beliefs about Children

  • We believe that children are gifts from God and are created in His image (Gen 1:26-27Psa 127:3)
  • We believe that children are born with a sinful nature and need redemption through Jesus (Rom 3:23)
  • We believe that children are capable of understanding and responding to the good news of Jesus Christ (Mat 18:3)

Our Beliefs about Parents

  • We believe that the home should be the first and primary spiritual community that children experience (Deu 6:4-9)
  • We believe that parents bare the primary responsibility for the Christian education of their children (Eph 6:1-4)
  • We believe that parents need encouragement, support and partnership as they raise their children in a godly environment (1 Thess 5:11)

Our Beliefs about the Church

  • We believe that the church's primary role in children's ministry is to establish an effective partnership with parents to encourage, support, and equip them as the primary Christian educators for their children (Eph 4:11-14)
  • We believe that the church's primary domains in partnering with parents are spiritual, physical, mental, and social (Luke 2:52)
  • We believe that the church should practically demonstrate the value of children by incorporating them in all aspects of church life (Mar 19:14)

Our Curriculum Outline: Our curriculum comes from the Maturity Series Curriculum that guides all discipleship efforts at Antioch. However, we will only address the disciple stage and not the member and leader stages. Additionally, not all the learning points from the adult outline on disciples will be introduced to the children. But what is introduced to the children will be tailored to their level of understanding.

Next Steps Series

  • Antioch has established a series of next steps as our primary approach for making disciples: Next Steps
  • Minister Sewell will begin sending a series of next steps documents that are designed to follow the same format but tailored to children. They will include, but not be limited to
  • Talking to your kids about salvation
  • Talking to your kids about baptism
  • Talking to your kids about church membership
