The Family Minsties of Antioch Baptist Church
(Due to the impact of COVID-19 the ministries in the section are in being transitioned from in-person to virtual) God instituted family in the book of Genesis. As such, the family is a vital part of any local church and society at large. Antioch values family and has organized ministries to care for the family. Family ministries include:
Effective children/youth ministry is not only ministry to children and youth it is ministry with them, for them and by them. The objective of this ministry is to address the ever-changing needs of our children and youth and help them develop as mature Christians that are responsibly involved at home, in school, and community. The biblical example of Jesus' life is our model for doing ministry with our children/youth. In Luke 2:52, He "grew in wisdom, stature, and in favor with God and man". This demonstrates 1) intellectual growth, 2) physical growth, 3) spiritual growth, and 4) social growth (in relationships with other around Him).
The purpose of the laymen movement is to minister to every adult male member of the church and to motivate them for service by supporting our total mission at home, at work, and in community. This is done through regular meetings, organized prayer partnerships, Bible study, and service opportunities in and outside of the church, as well as fellowship activities created for witnessing and outreach to disciple new members for Jesus Christ.
The purpose of the laywomen movement of our church is identical to that of the layman. The only difference is that its primary focus is to minister to the particular needs of the female adult members of our congregation.
The purpose of the senior movement of our church is identical to that of the layman and women. The only difference is that its primary focus is to minister to the particular needs of the senior members of our congregation.
