COVID-19 Protocols
January 1, 2021
Douglas County and the state of Nebraska are nearing and exceeding record high numbers of positive cases and other important indicators regarding COVID-19. As a result, Antioch will continue to refrain from in-person church activities outside of the weekly worship live stream with few exceptions. Additionally, we have reviewed and modified our previous protocols to further help lower the spread of COVID-19. This revised version will go into effect immediately. We solicit your prayers and cooperation as we implement these changes.
When anyone enters the building:
- There will be a designated person to greet people and take their temperature. Anyone who has an elevated temperature and/or experiencing respiratory difficulty will be asked to vacate the premises.
- Everyone must engage in social distancing while in the building. Floor stickers will be posted throughout the building to clearly mark a distance of six feet.
- When sitting in the sanctuary every other pew is available for seating and six feet must be maintained while sitting on the same pew.
- When hand washing please wash for a minimum of 20 seconds. Additionally, touchless hand sanitizer machines are conveniently placed on each level for additional disinfecting.
- Masks should be worn covering the mouth and nose at all times unless speaking or singing directly to the congregation during live worship while maintaining a distance of six feet. Washable cloth masks are available for anyone that enters the sanctuary without a mask.
If anyone entered the building while experiencing COVID-19 symptoms and/or recently tested positive for COVID-19:
- That person, or someone they designate, must notify either a Diaconate or the Pastor of their symptoms and/or positive test
- All people who were present will be notified and encouraged to monitor their symptoms and get tested
- All staff who were present will be required to self-isolate from church for a minimum 14 days and not return until they are symptom free and show proof of a negative test.
If any person experiences COVID-19 symptoms and/or tested positive for COVID-19 within a week after being present at Antioch:
- That person, or someone they designate, must notify either a Diaconate or the Pastor of their symptoms and/or positive test
- All people who were present will be notified and encouraged to monitor their symptoms and get tested if they experience symptoms
