Impact of COVID-19

While the mission and vision of Antioch remains the same, COVID-19 has significianctly impacted how we do ministry. We have temporarily suspended nearly all of our in-person ministries to include sunday moring worship.  In the meantime we have significanly increased our virtual ministry footprint. This has been a major shift in philosophy, metholdolgy, training, and staffing. However, it has resulted in an increase in the number of people we are impacting for Christ's sake. We look forward (when it is safe) to resuming our in-person ministry activie while continuing our virtual ministry efforts.

COVID-19 Protocols

January 1, 2021

Douglas County and the state of Nebraska are nearing and exceeding record high numbers of positive cases and other important indicators regarding COVID-19. As a result, Antioch will continue to refrain from in-person church activities outside of the weekly worship live stream with few exceptions. Additionally, we have reviewed and modified our previous protocols to further help lower the spread of COVID-19. This revised version will go into effect immediately. We solicit your prayers and cooperation as we implement these changes.

 When anyone enters the building:

  • There will be a designated person to greet people and take their temperature. Anyone who has an elevated temperature and/or experiencing respiratory difficulty will be asked to vacate the premises.
  • Everyone must engage in social distancing while in the building. Floor stickers will be posted throughout the building to clearly mark a distance of six feet.
  • When sitting in the sanctuary every other pew is available for seating and six feet must be maintained while sitting on the same pew.
  • When hand washing please wash for a minimum of 20 seconds. Additionally, touchless hand sanitizer machines are conveniently placed on each level for additional disinfecting.
  • Masks should be worn covering the mouth and nose at all times unless speaking or singing directly to the congregation during live worship while maintaining a distance of six feet. Washable cloth masks are available for anyone that enters the sanctuary without a mask.

If anyone entered the building while experiencing COVID-19 symptoms and/or recently tested positive for COVID-19:

  • That person, or someone they designate, must notify either a Diaconate or the Pastor of their symptoms and/or positive test
  • All people who were present will be notified and encouraged to monitor their symptoms and get tested
  • All staff who were present will be required to self-isolate from church for a minimum 14 days and not return until they are symptom free and show proof of a negative test.

If any person experiences COVID-19 symptoms and/or tested positive for COVID-19 within a week after being present at Antioch:

  • That person, or someone they designate, must notify either a Diaconate or the Pastor of their symptoms and/or positive test
  • All people who were present will be notified and encouraged to monitor their symptoms and get tested if they experience symptoms
